Resumen

La atención primaria centrada en el paciente busca mejorar los resultados de salud mediante la integración de enfoques holísticos que atienden las necesidades individuales. Esto se materializa a través de diversos modelos de atención integral que articulan servicios primarios, secundarios y terciarios. El enfoque biopsicosocial, que considera factores biológicos, psicológicos y sociales, es fundamental para abordar la naturaleza multifacética de la salud del paciente. La investigación indica que la atención centrada en el paciente mejora la satisfacción, la adherencia al tratamiento y los resultados de salud en general. Al incorporar estos modelos y enfoques, los sistemas de salud pueden ofrecer una atención más eficaz y completa, lo que se traduce en una mejor gestión de las enfermedades crónicas y en la prevención de otras. Este cambio hacia un modelo más personalizado e inclusivo representa un avance significativo en la mejora de la calidad y eficiencia de la atención sanitaria.
