Abstract

Introduction: Heterotaxy is defined as an abnormal arrangement of the organs, which is frequently associated with cardiac and intestinal malformations.

Objective: To present a case of ambiguous situs as an incidental finding by means of images.

Clinical case: We present the case of a 17-year-old female patient with an apparent health history who came to the clinic for cloudy urine, a urine study and imaging studies were performed, which showed significant anatomical alterations not known to the patient, suggestive of ambiguous situs.

Conclusions: Ambiguous situs can cause different malformations in various organ systems, so radiologists must have the knowledge to identify and describe them adequately.
